‘Diplomatic Experiences in the EU,USSR/Russia and the Middle East’

Speaker: Peter Gunning, former ambassador.

Peter has been a Diplomat since joining the Department of Foreign Affairs in 1974. He has considerable experience of, and interest in EU work, having served during two Irish Presidencies in Permanent Representation in Brussels and later as head of the EU Division in DFA. He also lived through interesting times in Iran, and as ambassador in Cairo he deepened his understanding of, and affection for, Egypt and the region.
