Was Michael Collins a dictator?

Joe was born in Colorado, spent most of his life in California and now lives in Florida. Before training and practicing as a lawyer, he played football for the San Francisco 49ers and was assigned to the 82nd Airborne division of the US army, which specialises in parachute assault operations.
However, with Irish forebears on his father’s side, Joe first came to Ireland as a child. In the 1960s, visiting museums and discovering Irish history, he became particularly interested in the Easter Rising, the War of Independence, the Civil War, and their aftermath. Since then Joe has published several books on the period including Dublin Rising 1916 , is a columnist for History Ireland, and features regularly on Newstalk’s Talking History show.
